This could just be a license management issue across the multiple repositories you have. Please contact your reseller to open a case with support to get to the root of the matter.

Are WebLink and Laserfiche Server installed on separate computers? Is there a firewall between the two? If you install the Client on the web server, are you able to connect to the same server and repository?

Yes, Weblink and Laserfiche are on seperate boxes. There are no firewalls between them.   The Laserfiche server and the weblink box are in the same segment.  The windows firewalls are disabled on both servers.

Were you able to test using the Client installed on the web server?

yes, I have installed the client on the weblink server.  I can open the repository.  ultimately, I would like to use AD authentication.  I can't get it to work with LF accounts.

I was able to connect to another repository on the same server.....  I am also getting

The maximum number of sessions that this server instance is licensed for has been reached.

When I try to login.  it is hit and miss.  sometimes I get in sometimes not.  But I can't connect to one of my repositories.

I suspect part of this is a license issue
