Quick Fields can only match documents by name and location, not by ID.

Wouldn't it make sense to allow QF to merge based on entry ID as well?

It might. The original idea was that Quick Fields would only run image enhancements and data extraction on documents and then send them back to the same location.

How is LF Capture Engine retrieving documents and where do they move that matching by name and path is not possible anymore? Or is it just that the name changes in the session?

Matching documents by ID opens up more questions that QF would either have to guess at or ask the user for more configuration. For ex, would you want to keep the old name or rename it to match the document name in Quick Fields? How about the path? Would you expect QF to move the document to the path specified by the session or leave it where it is?

With our current model, we are pulling the data down to QF and validating the OCR text against a scanned image of the document.  Once they have made any corrections, they are storing it back to the repository.

Certainly we could use the LF client to do the same job, but QF allows the ability to zoom to different sections as the user tabs through fields in the template.  Additionally, the field labels are part of the tab order in the LF client which causes our staff to have to add additional keystrokes for each field slowing down productivity.
