Feature Request: Open .url without warnings

asked on February 10, 2014

We have a client with an installation of Forms and they have a .url file on the root of there repository. When their users open up the .url it brings them to the form they need.

It appears, from my testing, that by having the .url in the repository, if a user clicks on the file and opens up a tab or window in their browser and do not close it, they will get a warning about overwriting the file and asking them to save another copy. Since all users have only 'Browse' and 'Read' on this file, and it is a URL, can we have it not give this warning, but just open up multiple instances like the file would do inside of windows file browser?

I'm not sure of all the implications, but it sounds like this would be a good thing to do for all documents that Laserfiche already knows are read-only. You'd still need to throw a warning that saws something like "This file is read-only, you will not be able to make any changes. Do you want to continue? Yes/No [  ] Don't ask me again"
