This rings a bell, but I don't remember what the root cause was.  It was something like a document that is on your recent documents list was deleted and caused an error when we try to load that menu.  If you have a tool like Fiddler or Firebug you can take a closer look at what is going wrong, or you can work with your reseller to open a support case.
