Question

Where the instance and submission ID go?

asked on February 5, 2014

In LF-WF-F 9 every time you submit a form nobody tells you that if you create two fields named Instance ID and Submission ID the info auto capture in the folder and form

In LF-WF-F 9.1 they no longer appears and I need them to retrieve the info and use it

After upgrading to Forms 9.1, you may need to reconfigure the SaveToLFConfiguration.xml  that stores the template and field information used by the Save to Laserfiche feature.

You can continue to use Save to Laserfiche to create form submissions in the repository, but we recommend using the new Save to Repository service task within your process model to make the process easier. You can still get the Submission ID and the Instance ID and place them into fields using the new service task.

When using the Save to Repository service task, please make sure to select the proper variables to place into the fields. We've had some support cases come up where the wrong variables were used.

You can assign them within Forms Process Modeler using save to Laserfiche activity to a template field value. You can then perform a search activity within your WF and retrieve the document/Folder using Submission ID/Instance ID.

Wow this change to many things

The migration process it’s not going to be transparent

Like some stuff and others not, you make this part more configurable and that’s good but also more complex

Thanks & regards
