How to activate/add a new user licence in Laserfiche 7.2 as i don't find the activation tool that is not found in the server folder

asked on February 4, 2014

I have a client who is still using LF 7.2 that we intend to migrate to LF 9.1 in coming weeks but they have a long process as they are first planning to migrate their DB from Oracle to SQL server so then we will do the migration so in the meanwhile we need to add a new user licence in their server but i fail to find the activation tool in LF 7.2 Server folder with which i can activate their server again with the new licence found on the support site.

Server 7.2 used a .LIC license file. You should be able to access that on the support site under "My Client's License Files". There should be a list of customers and then on the right a download licenses link. The server license should be in a folder by the server serial number. Keep in mind you can only start one server instance with that license file on a network. If you needed a second license for any conversion/migration you would need to go through your regional manager and ask about obtaining a second license temporarily.
