Hi Dory,
I am using Weblink, Firefox and VLC Media Player, when to click on an electronic document (audio, video) uses Firefox plugin VLC Media Player and plays the electronic document in streaming mode (like youtube)
Videos stored within Laserfiche will open in their native application by default. Are you looking for a way to view the videos within Laserfiche? A little more information on what you're looking to do should help us offer a solution.
as for an example, what I am looking for is something like you-tube, but videos are archived into Laserfiche.
While Laserfiche is able to store all your videos in any file type, we do not currently support streaming videos. You're going to want to use a video streaming server to stream your videos. Which server you need to use depends on the video format, e.g., Adobe sells one for Flash, Microsoft offers a solution for WMV, etc.
Someone has experience in this implementation?, I have a requirement to play audio and video stored in the repository with weblink, but using streaming (large files)
Marco,
Do you have a front end for storing your Audio and Video? Or do the users just drag & drop, or do you use import agent?
We're looking for a Front end that will allow users to upload files (Audio, Video & Photos), tag them with description then save them into a folder based on the data entered by the user. We do not want to have to give all these users FULL licenses.
Has anyone found an answer to this question yet? We would love to move away from our current solution provider and store videos in Laserfiche while using WebLink or a similar front end to stream. Would definitely need the security aspects that WebLink and Laserfiche provide.
Thanks!
Hi Joshua,
You can use a shared folder on your file server where users would deposit the files to import.
Import Agent would import the files into repository folder, WorkFlow retrieve the documents from that folder, applied tag to each document and move the document to their respective folder.
The other solution would be to develop an application (windows service, web services) using Laserfiche SDK to perform the same process, in this case just a full license is used.
