Question

Viewable Folder Rights?

asked on February 3, 2014

I seem to remember in past Laserfiche versions there was a way to set not only access rights to folders, but also visibility of said folders. I was reviewing an old instance of 8.1 where it doesn't seem to be more than the "browse" right that was adjusted to change this. However, in 9 that function doesn't seem to alter the visibility of folders in a repository. Is there something that I'm missing? We are going to give a presentation very soon where our salesman would like to show this to the potential client, however I cannot seem to figure this out.

I have the root repository/folder's access rights to the "admin" only, and one of our demo's sub folders for the presentation unchecked for inherit rights, and adjusted the user "demo" rights to the folder accordingly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check in the Admin Console that the user, and the Everyone group, doesn't have the Bypass Browse privilege since that will override Browse entry access rights on individual entries.

That worked, but it wasn't the user's rights granting the "Bypass Browse", but the Everyone group. After removing it there, I can only see the specific folders for the user I want. Thank you for your help.
