Laserfiche 9.1 in Private Cloud

Hi

 

Is there any documentation descript how to install and configure Laserfiche 9.1 in Private Cloud

The main hurdle would be our integration with Active Directory. In Laserfiche Rio, named licenses are allocated to domain accounts, so arranging the configuration of License Manager and its registered applications might prove challenging. You would have a similar concern in Laserfiche Avante, except the implications would be less critical in the sense that users would simply not be able to log in using Windows Authentication.

Depending on the environment and scenario, you could federate the cloud AD with your local AD.

I've never seen anything. I suppose it depends on what your definition of a private cloud is. I can't think of anything in Laserfiche, or any of it's components, that would preclude you from installing it in VMs on Azure, AWS, Rackspace, etc.

 

The server installs would be exactly the same. The only change would be that ensuring your servers can talk to each other and with the clients is going to be slightly different between providers.

 

Can you be more specific about what your concerns are?

The main thing to note would be native integrations with components such as Active Directory. If the Laserfiche Server is installed in a cloud environment, your users (who are in your intranet domain) would probably not be able to use Windows Authentication to log into the repository. Besides that though, everything should work as expected.

The deployment toolkit is included in the Laserfiche 11 download package.
