asked on January 30, 2014

I am the Laserfiche admin for my company. I selected all in the settings of forms and made everyone a basic user. Well that included myself. How can i undo this?

Hi Laura,

This issue can be resolved by having a new named user.

Here are the steps:

1. create a new named user in repository, grant Manage Trustees privilege

2. go to FormsConfig, register repository with this named user.

3. login to Forms with this named user.

this named user will be system admin by default

If this means that no one has access to the System Security page (including yourself) go to Repository tab of the Forms Configuration page and re-enter credentials for the Laserfiche repository and click Save. The account you use to verify the connection to the repository is automatically made a System Administrator in Forms, so you should be able to log in with this account and make other role changes as necessary.

I think you are looking for this: http://www.laserfiche.com/support/webhelp/laserficheforms/9.1/en-us/forms/#accessRights.htm%3FTocPath%3DCreating%20and%20Administering%20Processes%20from%20the%20Manage%20Page%7C_____1

If that is not what you were looking for, I hope a Laserfiche Employee replies so that I can better understand administrating LF Forms myself.

Neither of those options worked. I removed the repository, and resigned in with an admin profile and my account is still a basic user in forms

Unfortunately I tried that earlier, and to be sure i just attempted it again. with a new admin user, with full rights. Attached are snips of what settings i have.

The admin user needs to be a completely new user, that never exists in your repository before. eg. in the ASPEN-Contracting repository, create a new repository user. Update the Username and Password in FormsConfig and click Save. Don't modify things in other tabs, login to Forms with this user.

The admin3 user was a brand new user. I attempted this process with creating an admin2, and later an admin3 user. I normally only have one admin user account, plus my named user account.

Is the admin2, admin3 set to repository named user?

Ok. This worked on the third time. The trick was to log into the server and follow the steps there. The web did not work..
