I saw a lot of QA since last 10 years about Lotus Notes but I can't find any detail from LF team.

LF team, please help with this that we can work with customer who are using Notes.

Thanks,

Hi,

I understand that the integration with Lotus notes is not available as with outlook but what can we do for a client using Lotus Domino/notes?

  • Can users drag/ drop emails from Lotus client or do they systematically save on their local drive and import to Laserfiche?
  • Is there an alternative way for an end user to import emails and their metadata e.g. using import agent?
  • Is there a feature request for an MS outlook like integration for Lotus and is Laserfiche planning to bring this integration?
  • Any other solutions will help...

Thanks.

Hi Neermal,

I don't have a great deal of information for you I'm afraid, but I can answer your first bullet point - emails can be dragged and dropped from Lotus straight into the Laserfiche client to be saved. The user would be prompted with the standard metadata dialog, although automatically extracting the To, From, Subject (etc.) values is not possible. At least the file does not have to be saved to a local drive before being imported!

Import Agent could also import the emails, but is probably an unnecessary step when direct drag & drop can be used. Although, one advantage that IA would provide is being able to default some of the metadata based on which Windows folder the user drags & drops the email file to (Document Type = Email, Category = Correspondence, etc).
