Question

Am I doing something wrong when filling out a PDF?

asked on January 28, 2014 Show version history

I am using Workflow to fill out a PDF and in the past I have only had trouble with the time it takes to do this type of activity, but with this PDF it just will not store the values. Am I doing something wrong?

When I open the document in Adobe Acrobat, I look at the Properties and it says it's PDF Version 1.6 and was produced by "PDF Producer: Adobe PDR Library 9.9". It also says the application was Adobe InDesign CS5.5.  In the Security tab it says I am able to fill out PDF Fields.

Am I missing something?

Have you tried saving it as a Reader Extended PDF? We have done that with our PDF's and have not had any issues.

How would I do that? I am not the original creator of the PDF

If you are creating the PDF with Acrobat, when you go to save choose File-> Save As-> Reader Extended PDF-> Enable Additional Features.

Have you checked the instance details? Are there any errors/warnings?

Are the values not there at all? Click in one of the fields that was supposed to be populated. Does the value appear?

I wasn't getting any errors actually. Turns out I was calling for the Tokens from Forms wrong (not used to 9.1 yet) and also the PDF needed to be saved as extended. Now it is working.
