When someone is filling out a form and tries to submit it Forms highlights the fields that require attention. It would be very useful if Forms would create an error summary that could be located at the bottom or top of a form that listed all of the items that need attention on the form to submit properly.

Thanks for the feature request! As a clarification, would you expect to be able to customize the error/validation messages that appear for each field?
That would be ideal.
UPDATE: It should allow you to do that on the Advanced tab of the field.
Just to confirm, you'd also like to be able to specify where on the form the message would appear (top or bottom)?
Correct. I think it would be great if it could be added to the form kind of like a field so the user could really place it any where they wanted on the form, but it could only be added once.
This is becoming more and more necessary with our processes. Is there any update on if or when this will be available?
It would be great if for each field on the Advanced tab you could customize the error message that would be displayed and then either have an Error Summary field that could be placed anywhere on the form, or have it display in a modal popup to the user.
Hi Blake,
What type of error message you want to customize, is it the ones introduced with the regular expression? or the required field message? or the calculation error message?
All would be fantastic really. The idea is to be able to present to the end user a more distinct message. For example, if I am using a field for a social security number or an employee number, I want it to be able to say "The social security number you entered is too short." or if is for an employee number that didn't get filled out "Please fill in the employee number."
