Can I retrieve Workflow Designer data that has been purged (older than the default 30 days)?

 I have a customer who would like to view their WF data via search results that is older than 30 days, however the default 8.3 Workflow setting is to purge the data- I have turned off the purge data setting, but I am still unable to find any results from previous WF instances. Are they gone forever?

No, you can't get it back (without restoring older backups of the SQL database). Data past the expiration date set in Workflow is deleted from the database.
