Question

Access Denied while logging in to Audit Trail

asked on January 21, 2014

We have 5 users added under Permissions section of Audit Trail Reporting.

3 can login successfully but two of them gets 'Access Denied' Error when trying to open Audit Trail. (We are using the AuditTrail URL remotely like: http://AuditServer/AuditTrail8 and user gets prompted to enter username and password and that's where two of them gets 'Access Denied Error').

What access rights are required for an AD account to access Audit Trail?

I'm pretty sure the users need read & execute on the "C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Audit Trail\WebAuditReporter" directory.

I had figured it out long before so just sharing here.

1) Features Added to IIS at the server with Audit Trial 8 installed are:

+ HTTP Redirection

+ IIS 6 Management Compatability
- IIS 6 WMI Compatability
- IIS 6 scripting Tools
- IIS 6 Management Console

2) Under:
Roles >> Web Server (IIS) >>
Internet Information Services Manager

Select server/machine name and then under Authentication, change:

ASP.NET Impersonation : Enabled

Forms Authentication: Enabled

Windows Authentication: Enabled

Hope this helps someone smiley

Thanks for this post!

I added those features and I'm getting this message:

"Challenge-based and login redirect-based authentication cannot be used simultaneously."

Do you know what this refers to? Thanks in advance! :)

That's an IIS 7 limitation when having Forms Authentication and Windows Authentication both enabled. See this page for more information.
