Support for image annotations with a transparent background

asked on January 20, 2014 Show version history

I have several images (PNG format) that have transparent backgrounds.  When I add any of these images as an image annotation to a document the entire image annotation is black.  Any other background color displays correctly but it would appear that for some reason transparent background images are not supported.  Is there a workaround to use a transparent background image as an image annotation?

It does appear that transparent backgrounds for image annotations are not supported in the Laserfiche Client, but they are supported in Web Access and they furthermore do export to PDF correctly. I have filed a request to support them.

As a workaround: if viewing in Web Access isn't an option, the only workaround I found is to export to PDF, attach that PDF to the document, then view the PDF pages instead of the LF pages.

Brianna - Thanks for the research and feedback.  I will work around the issue.
