Complex Reporting Parameters in Audit Trail

asked on January 14, 2014 Show version history

I am trying to get more information out of Audit Trail and I can't seem to figure out how. If I have a Template that contains Fields such as: Project, Manager etc. and I want to know, if I look up a specific template  such as "Incoming Design Submissions" and want to see what the Manager "Brian" has for projects, how do I do so?

Audit Trail is meant to track processes, changes, user actions, etc. that take place in the repository. It seems like what you may be wanting to do is to just perform a search in the repository for entries that have the template "Incoming Design Submissions" with the field "Manager" set to the value "Brian". Then in the search results, it should also display the values that are in the other fields that are in that template.

If this isn't what you're looking for, can you clarify your question?

Regards

Hi Alexander,

That is what I am looking for. Is this possible?

Yes, you can perform a template/field search in applications like the Laserfiche Client and Web Access. See this page for more information.

I apologize Alexander I misread your 1st response. That search did help, but I need to report on this information. i.e. what Brian is assigned to is his projects and his work load. I need to know what is working on. This also goes for our employees and our managers.

Sorry for the confusion.

Not a problem. We have information available on the Support Site regarding extending Audit Trail by using it in conjunction with third party reporting tools such as SQL Reporting. You can search for "Advanced Reporting" in the support site and it should return a few resources that may help you build a report with the use of third party tools to get the information you need.

Hi,

I was unable to find any helpful information. I understand that I can transfer the information into SQL but are there any capabilities that allow me to do a complex parameter search to retrieve information directly from Audit Trail?
