Question

The type initializer for 'FormsConfig.Infrastructure.FormsServerInfo' threw an exception.

Upgraded to Avante 9.1 Server and LF Forms 9.1

Installation successfully completed.

Prior to, LF Forms working fine.

 

Now in LF Forms configuration, I get an error :  "The type initializer for 'FormsConfig.Infrastructure.FormsServerInfo' threw an exception.".

 

I cannot complete the 'Forms Server' section of the LF Forms configuration or access LF Forms.

 

Suggestions as to how to resolve ?  Should I uninstall complete and do a clean installation of LF Forms vs. the upgrade install that was done or is this a config issue ?

 

Please advise.

RESOLVED.

 

Had to  uninstall and reinstall LF Forms 9.1 clean.

Once this was done, it actually gave a more meaningful error code indicating connectivity issue to MSSQL Server for AppPool User.

 

Changed from 'Default account' to Local Administrator account for the installed ('Run As') user.

 

Also. For some reason, "Named Pipes" was no longer enabled on the Laserfiche SQL Database, so enabled this and restarted that as well.

 

From there, was able to successfully complete the LF Forms registration wizard, verify connectivity and log into Forms 9.1.

I had this yesterday and the wonderful techs at support helped me with it. Just as an FYI I learned it was because Forms went from a 32 bit to 64 bit app so the service changed.

This resolved the issue.
