Question

Is there a way to have Forms NOT create folders for each submitted form?

asked on January 7, 2014

So customer wants to be able to have submitted forms stored in Laserfiche in a specific folder structure.  We know we can do that with Forms, however, every Form that gets submitted creates a new folder...so I've changed the starting rule for "Entry Created", "Path Starts with Incoming Forms".  I'm having an issue with figuring out how to delete the folders that get created once the Submitted Form is moved to its new location?

Thanks!

Yes! You're probably still using the "Save to Laserfiche" feature from Forms 9.0 to create form submissions. With Forms 9.1, we introduced a different method to create more complete form submissions in the repository, the Save to Repository service task.

You can use Save to Repository service tasks to create intuitively named form submissions that have the metadata you want already on them when they enter the repository. When configuring the service task, you'll specify the path in the repository where form submissions will be saved, and that's where the documents will appear. For more information, check out this page in the online help.
