Question

Is there a way to have mobile automatically add a domain prefix to username?

asked on January 3, 2014

I know you can do this with Forms, for example. I haven't seen a setting to set this up for the Mobile app - will be easier for my mobile users to type in the same thing they type in to log in to Windows in the morning. Having them remember to add a domain name to the front is one extra step.

We're on 9.1.

Laserfiche Mobile is currently not able to populate a domain name to the username.  I spoke with a developer who has confirmed that this functionality is being considered for the next release.  If you have an especially pressing use case, we'd love to hear about it so we can best decide the new features to include in upcoming releases.

I have a half dozen clients that use Mobile out in the field. One in particular uses this while inspecting healthcare facilities. Sometimes they need to be able to quickly log in and document something, and any extra time required typing in their username can be a pain. Also, most of them don't even know what their domain is, so it increases the learning curve on training for Mobile.

We're on mobile 10.3 and can get the domain name appended on the username field on the app sign in screen (I think as early as 10.1), but we often get an extra slash that is appended to the data so our users have to remove it before signing in:  /doman_name/username
