Question

LF 9.1 copy paste by right clicking not working

asked on January 2, 2014

We just upgraded to LF 9.1.0.413 and have noticed some bugs with copy and paste option when right clicking.  When we copy and item and try to paste using right click the link is not available.  We have to log off the client and then log back in to get it to work.

Just wanted to let you know that our developer was able to reproduce and address this issue and it should be resolved in the upcoming Lf 9.1.1 maintenance release, which I expect to be out in the next couple weeks.

As a workaround for now, he noted that if it gets into a state where it is failing, you should be able to reset it by 'clearing' the internal clipboard. He suggested that you could select an entry and press F2 as if you were renaming it and copy the name text. Then when you try to do the entry cut/copy operation it should work again.

I tried this out, and I think I see the issue. It looks like it's not paste that's the issue, but how the copy is initiated. If you try to copy using ctrl-c or the Edit\Copy menu item, it isn't taking. If you copy using ctrl-drag, or right-click-drag, or right click on the entry and select copy, it takes. Thanks for reporting this and let me know if this matches what you are seeing.

It is happening when we right click and copy then try to paste.  It doesn't happen all the time and it happens to different users.  We have yet to try other methods of copying.

I am now getting reports of this as an intermittent issue. Sometimes it works as expected and others it does not. Additionally my users are telling me all methods of copy/paste are intermittently failing. (ctrl-c or the Edit\Copy menu item, using ctrl-drag, or right-click-drag, or right click on the entry and select copy). Sometimes these methods work and sometimes they don't and I cant as yet identify a way to recreate the issue.

Alright, I guess I only saw one aspect of it. Thanks for the feedback, we are looking into it.
