Question

Do you need to install SDK Runtime on each machine or just copy specific libraries?

asked on December 30, 2013

I was wondering if I am able to just copy the library reference files of 1 or 2 libraries to a workflow server instead of installing the SDK Runtime application. I am trying to avoid a restart and only need to make use of one library reference it currently does not have.

As a best practice, you want to install the SDK runtime. That way you ensure the libraries are properly counted as shared by Windows and do not get removed on upgrades. Also, most of them have dependencies, so copying one file over is usually not enough.
