I'm not familiar with Ricoh's DocuScan. I searched on Google but could not find any DocuScan products by Ricoh. Based on other results that have come up, I have to assume it is some type of scanner. If that's the case, the easiest way to get metadata from the scanner (short of a dedicated integration) would be to see if the scanner can store that metadata on the network in XML format. From there, it would be a relatively simple matter to write an SDK application and import the images along with their metadata as a Laserfiche document.
