Question

bypass uac

asked on December 10, 2013

In most cases I found that disabling UAC would fix scanning issues with Laserfiche clients. For security purposes like preventing malware installs, a client of ours setup UAC to enable on all computers as a GPO. I had to turn it off to fix their Laserfiche sanning issue. Is there a way around this?

What I found was that if you install the drivers etc. with UAC off and scan then reset the UAC that scanning will then work.

I tried that, I even uninstalled all LF products & scanner drivers (UAC off), reboot, reinstall scanner driver (UAC off) then LF client (UAC off) then reboot then turn on UAC.

What exactly is going wrong with UAC on?

Did you scan with UAC on to test and it worked?  If so, then turn off the UAC, reboot, and then test again.
