Question

Web Part Sessions

asked on December 9, 2013

Is there anyway to log out the sessions created when using the Laserfiche Web Parts in SharePoint? Any IIS settings I'm missing out on regarding sessions?

Every time the particular user uses the features it creates an open Laserfiche connection that, when they close SharePoint (or the page containing the Web Part) the connection does not close - causing 'Maximum Sessions Reached' errors.

The Web Parts (Repository Access & Search) are great but without being able to clear the sessions after use makes the features unusable :(

Any ideas?

Thank you for bringing this up. Currently, there isn't a good way to address this issue. We will take a look at improving the functionality in the next version.

Thanks for the information Kenneth but still after trying different attempts at config changes I had no luck, and any Web Access related time-outs don't seem to work for it.

I know it doesn't solve this issue perfectly, but would the global "Log users out after X amount of time" setting help with this?

Gareth, which global setting is this?

Many thanks

I was thinking in the Administration Console, log in to the repository. Then under "Repository Options", open up "Settings." Click on the "Sessions" tab and change the setting for "Idle disconnect."

I know this affects the Laserfiche thick client, but not sure how it will affect Sharepoint connections.
