Question

Is there a way to have Forms route a task to a different user if it is not resolved after a few days?

asked on November 21, 2013

I was wondering if there was a way to have a user task that would allow for a secondary task to be run after a certain amount of time if the first task is not resolved.

This would be used for when a user is out on vacation or too busy to approve a submission.

Hi Ken,

The process modeler in Forms 9.0 does not have this ability, but we're preparing for the release of 9.1 in the very near future.  Forms 9.1 brings a lot of cool new functionality, including the ability to use timers and deadlines.  Very soon you'll be able to have Forms route tasks to different users if it's not resolved after a few days!

Hey, what do you know!  I actually double-checked the roadmap before I responded, and it still just said Q4.  Looks like our product strategy team was able to commit to a date in the past half hour or so smiley

So there you have it: December 9!  Prepare yourself!

Has there been any delays to the release plan for Forms 9.1? Say,  from what I heard 2-3 weeks ago?

Assuming you heard that we're shooting for a Thanksgiving-ish release, then nothing has changed.  We still haven't committed to a specific day yet, but we're getting close!  It should definitely be available in the next few weeks.

Actually, I just looked and there are in fact dates set that are no before Thanksgiving
