Question

Workflow Replicate Entry

asked on November 15, 2013 Show version history

Dears,

We have the below scenario:

- A customer  has around 4000 offices around its country.

- Each Office receives on a daily basis, around 500 IDs.

- We want to install  Laserfiche RIO Express Server at each office.

- We want to configure a workflow at each server in order to replicate the scanned IDs. Workflow will run on a sceduale basis to replicate entried from the office site to the main site. It means 4000 Workflows will run on sceduale basis, all of them need to replicate from their site to the same HQ site.

- At the HQ Site, we will have 15 QF servers for processing.

Do you think this is a supported scenario by Laserfiche?

Thanks,

Dory Mina

Hi Dory,

What you've described is all stuff that can be accomplished by Laserfiche software, but the scale you're talking about is pretty impressive.  With 4000 offices, and each one receiving about 500 documents daily, that's 2 million documents you're trying to replicate every day.  That's going to take a long time and cause a serious hit to performance under even the best circumstances.  If these ID documents are large files, it's possible that there may just not be enough time in the day to transfer all of them!

Whether or not you'll be able to build out this system is going to depend almost entirely on your hardware, the network speed, and the types of documents you're working with.  I'd recommend trying some smaller scale testing to get an idea of whether or not you'll be able to meet the needs of this client.  I suspect that, as described, this system is going to have some difficulty.  Perhaps you could make some modifications to the requirements.  For example, rather than replicating an entire document, what if you just wrote the metadata values to a central SQL table?  Or what if, rather than having a single, central repository, you had several different repositories that documents were replicated into?

In short: everything you've described is supported by Laserfiche, but I can't say whether or not it's realistically possible.  You'll need to determine that yourself!

- The same will require to process online, near line & offline from remote branches to HQ on high speed network through, calculation required to gane bandwidth speed occupied

- Once images uploaded from branches to HQ, flush on site branches images

-  recommendation on minimum cost with high performance & accuracy of 99% data capturing of multi ID / Passports types

- the same to be replaced on 20 countries across network operator owned network

- BPM server sizing including QF / Agent as servers
