Question

How long does it take for Weblink to disconnect after landing on the main page?

asked on November 11, 2013 Show version history

I noticed that after I connect to Weblink, where I have registered a repository using Full Named User License in Weblink Admin Utility, I don't see that user logged in. Does it create and terminate the connection with each request(click) on the page. Please advise.

Hi Mohammad,

If I understand your question correctly, you added a repository from the WebLink admin utility and configured it such that users automatically connect to that repository through a Laserfiche trustee. Then, when you browsed to the WebLink site in your internet browser, you did not see your user's name in the Sessions tab of the Laserfiche Admin Console. Am I correct?

The basic answer to your question is that WebLink creates sessions with the Laserfiche Server the same way any other Laserfiche client application does. The session will be maintained until you log out or the session times out from inactivity. The timeout period for WebLink is set to 20 minutes by default and can be configured in the Web.Config file under C:\Program Files\Laserfiche\Weblink\Web File\. It's set by changing the timeout attribute of the sessionState node.

I'm not sure why you aren't seeing your user's session connect when you browse to WebLink. Make sure you refresh the sessions node of the admin console when you check to see if your user is there.

Thank you for the reply. I will test the settings and will let you know if it doesn't work.
