Question

Information Security - Mandatory Access Control (MAC)

asked on October 2, 2013

Dears,

I hope you have a good day all,

if you may help me I'm wondring about the Access Control approceh in Laserfiche,

Does Laserfiche Support Mandatory Access Control (MAC) Model?

If so!
May you give me an example on how MAC approach is working on Laserfiche ,

And if not,
May you tell me what is the Access Control Model that Laserfiche is based on.

Because as I understand from my own research on Laserfiche, Laserfiche is based on Discretionary access control (DAC) , if you could provide more information about it, it would be really helpful.

Many Thanks.

Laserfiche doesn't support a mandatory access control (MAC) security model. Most MAC systems use security levels and compartments to denote the confidentiality or access level of data. You can record information about security levels using Laserfiche's classification level feature, and compartments can be modeled as security tags. However, Laserfiche doesn't apply these security markings or enforce access based upon them in a way that could be considered a MAC system.
