Question

Workflow, Custom Queries, and VB Scripts

asked on April 29, 2013 Show version history

Hello Presales,

Our customer, the City of Denton, has been using custom VB scripts to automate some filing procedures. Since they've switched to using 'custom queries' instead of VB scripts to accomplish the same task, the workflows have been taking significantly longer to complete.

What would some good troubleshooting steps be? I'm not very familiar with custom queries, so I thought this would be a good place to ask. Additionally, if you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them :)

This really depends on the custom query that you’re doing. However, there are a couple of things you can check to see if it will impact performance. If you go to the Advanced Server Options in the Workflow Administration Console, you should be able to navigate to the Activity Performance tab. Try unchecking the database activities and see if that impacts the performance at all. Please see the image below for clarification.
