Pdf import and full text OCR

I need to know the limitations for basic import of PDF's with regard to full text OCR

Hi there,

 

It’s not possible to OCR a PDF, but we can extract the text. The results of this is the same as an OCR allowing you to full text search the PDFs. PDFs are actually binary files and contain no images even though it may seem like they do. Another option is to generate pages, or TIF files, for the PDFs upon import, these pages that are generated can be OCRd.
