Question

Laserfiche server

asked on May 10, 2013 Show version history

I am building a server configuration for LF and 15 users.  My question relates to the added server burden when LF Web User Licensing is included in the LF solution. Would you recommend increasing the CPU Cores, or speed, or dual core, or more memory to accommodate the web services?

Just in case you ask, the server is a Xeon E2530 6C 2.2Ghz with 16Gb memory and SATA 3Gbs drives.

It sounds like you’re trying to cram everything onto one server machine. Considering the number of users and the services involved, I wouldn’t recommend doing that. Over 10 users, you should seriously consider installing SQL Server on its own, dedicated server. This is true especially if the users will be doing a lot of hardware-intensive tasks such as importing and searching. Once you do that, a Xeon E2530 6C 2.2Ghz with 16GB of RAM should be able to handle running Laserfiche Server and Web Access.

Also, make sure to take a look atour Hardware Planning and Specifications whitepaper we have for some general guidelines before making any purchasing decisions or recommendations for customers.
