Question

Printing Multiple Laserfiche Standard Documents

asked on May 8, 2013 Show version history

I have a customer who is printing out Final Versions of Invoices processed in a Workflow by highlighting multiple documents at once stored as Laserfiche Standard Documents in Laserfiche.

They are sorting by Field "Client Name" so all invoices for a client will print together and can be combined in one envelope.

However even thought, the documents are sorted by Client Name they are still printing in Alphabetical / Numerical order instead of the Field Column Sort Order which means they have to manually sort the invoices after printing.

Is their a method when selecting multiple documents to print at the same time that they print based on the Field Column Sort Order?

This question is an interesting one. I tried to reproduce the issue on my computer with my printer paused, and it seemed like I was able to sort the documents in the client and send them to the print queue in sorted order every time.  Have you tried something similar to  check if they’re being sent to the queue correctly? It’s possible they’re being resolved out of order after Laserfiche sends the documents to be printed.

On a not unrelated note, it sounds like there’s a lot of paper being generated by this process. Would it be possible to email the invoices out instead of printing them? It might end up saving quite a bit of time and money.
