If you haven’t seen it already, I would recommend the help file Pulling Data from Laserfiche Forms into Workflow, which covers two different methods of getting Forms and Workflow to exchange information: either having Forms kick-off a workflow using a Service Task, or using Save to Laserfiche within Forms and having the resultant saved forms trigger a workflow’s starting rules.

It’s a bit hard without seeing the actual error message, but if you’re using the second of the two methods outlined above, have you double checked that your Forms submission ID and instance ID are being properly assigned to the saved form submission/instance folder? (You can find instructions on configuring these IDs to be assigned in the above help topic, or directly at Configuring Save to Laserfiche).
