Just a quick question… can AutoCAD documents in their native version be OCRed and therefore text searched?

AutoCAD files cannot have their text extracted by default; to get the text from an AutoCAD document in its native version, you will have to install an ifilter that can pull the text out for Laserfiche to use. More information about ifilters can be found in our Web Access help files. A quick Google search pulled up a number of different companies that produce them, but I don’t have a way to test any of them, so I can’t make any recommendations.

If you’re looking for an easy way to make your AutoCAD files searchable, you might want to take a look at Cambridge Connector’s AutoCAD integration.More information can be found on their Laserfiche Marketplace page.
