If I have a customer who scans in a document on January 5th, but wants the document cutoff date to reflect January 3rd (the date the document is supposed to enter retention), what is the best practice for records management?
To clarify, this client scans a file a few days after a document is supposed to enter Laserfiche. How can we make Laserfiche reflect records management that would otherwise be accomplished without this software?
Currently, the client has a retention schedule set to Creation + 2 years, but that creation date is off by a few days. How can I modify their records management to reflect the true date?

Laserfiche Records Management Edition comes with the ability to do exactly what you need in this scenario. In the Record Properties box near the top you will find a Filing Date. By default, the filing date equals the date the record folder was created in Laserfiche, but it can be changed to reflect the true cutoff eligibility date.
