Question

Rio License manager and forms

asked on April 9, 2013 Show version history

If you unregister a forms portal license from a server through license manager, assign it to another server for testing,  then recreate it back on the production server, is there any risk of losing the created forms?

Forms are stored in the Laserfiche Forms database, which is not related in any way to License Manager. In other words, there is no risk of losing them when you make changes to the Forms licensing.

But what if you try to open a public form on the production server while the portal feature is in the test environment?  If you need the portal feature in order for the "Public" option to show up in the Access page, then what happens if that form originally had Public selected and that Public option is no longer there?  Does it just default to the "Restricted" option? (Are you going to tell me to try it and find out for myself? smiley)

Hey Kacy,

Yes, it will default to the restricted option. If Forms Portal is moved back to that server, you will need to re-configure the option again.
