You can definitely convert PDFs into Tiffs in Laserfiche. Just follow these steps:

1. Select the desired document, right click and select generate pages if you haven’t already.

2. At this point the Tiffs are generated though the PDF component will still be there.

3. To remove the PDF component completely, go up to Tasks in toolbar and select delete Electronic Files.

If you convert a .pdf to a Tiff, will you lose any annotations or signatures added to the .pdf?

PDF annotations can be converted into Laserfiche annotations. If you remove the PDF component, you would lose PDF signatures.

How did you fix this?

That specific case was resolved by regenerating the problematic PDF.

If you are using Snapshot to generate the pages from your PDF, try the resolutions/workarounds in this KB: https://support.laserfiche.com/kb/1012815/images-may-contain-invalid-characters-when-using-laserfiche-snapshot-to-generate-image-pages- .

If neither helps, you may need to open a support case so that Support can look at your specific problematic PDF.

Excellent! We are importing many documents from an out of town employee who is scanning and uploading via Forms as a PDF. This lets me convert to TIFF to make consistent with all other scans in this folder.

Is there a simpler way to upload multiple page document TIFF's using Forms? All batches are multiple pages. Imperative to capture all pages in order with metadata.

Arthur I think you can select the option of sending a tiff or PDF.

You can save Form as TIFF or PDF, My concern is the attachment they are uploading. Thank you for prompt response. I'll look and see if the option exists for the attachment as well.

I do not see the option to remove the electronic file.  Am I missing something?

If you go back into the Contents pane and select the document, then you should be able to delete the electronic file.

We just upgraded to Laserfiche 10 Web Access. I could not find Delete Electronic File.

Please advise. Thanks!

Is the training material updated for Laserfiche 10? Still don't have a feeling of solid grasp of laserfiche 10.

Thanks.

We are now using forms to import pdfs and convert to .tifs using a special profile we created.  Works great!  Forms 10.4 is what we are on.

Sue Anglim, how did you get the attachments to covert from PDF to TIFF with a profile? Thanks.
