lfds no longer syncs groups to admin console

asked 4 hours ago • Show version history

I found out last week that our LFDS will sync new laserfiche users to our Admin Console only after they have logged in at least once in the web client. Groups however no longer sync (especially since I cannot "log in" as the group first) and so now I cannot apply rights to the groups coming from LFDS for permissions on folders, templates etc.

This was never a problem in the past. So I am a bit perplexed. Has anyone seen this issue before. We wil be upgrading LFDS next week, so fingers crossed that might solve the issue. But my only solution currently is to configure each individual user in these groups rights to all the places they need to see, instead of doing it once for the group. Very time consuming.

Laserfiche Directory Server Version 11.0.0.1143

We have a mix of AD and Laserfiche users, AD and laserfiche and repository groups. And it seems only the Laserfiche groups are having an issue

Groups created in Directory Server have not had any major changes with how they are handled in the Laserfiche Repository Server administration console: they have always needed to be manually added. They only automatically sync to Forms, since Forms uses them differently.

Specifically, you can add a Directory Server group from the Laserfiche Directory Accounts page:

And optionally mark it as "Trusted" if you want all members of that group to inherit login access.

If necessary, you can also add Directory Groups to repository groups:

this can be useful for repository-level organization.

Note: this will not sync over all members of that group to the list until they login, but again this hasn't changed. You can choose to add users manually if necessary.
