Question

setup weblink permissions in LF10

asked on September 8 • Show version history

Good Afternoon,

So, we are going to launch weblink internally for employees however there are only certain folders the employees can have access to. More detail, to setup permission to folders via weblink and give permissions to view certain folders. I am looking at employee wide group, Department A group, and Department B group via weblink. Right now we do have SSO turned on and everyone will have an active directory login. How do I set the permission groups? Simply a way to set certain permissions in weblink? Please and thank you.

You probably know this, but to be clear: permissions are set up in the repository, and what matters is how users authenticate, not the application that they use. So you restrict and grant access with WebLink the same way you do with your users who use the web client or Windows client. Best practices are to base your access policy around groups and folders and not users and documents. If you're not familiar with the topic, Best Practices in Laserfiche Security is a good starting point.
