Installing LFGet.exe - first step before scripts

asked on August 18 • Show version history

Years ago, I packaged version 11 of the Laserfiche Client products via SCCM. Now we are moving to InTune, and I'm working on packaging version 12 products, including the Desktop Client, Snapshot and Scanning.

On Answers, I found 2 posts (links below) referencing scripts and Intune, of which both call upon LFGet.exe to install the Laserfiche products.

My question: how do you automatically install the Laserfiche Installer on a user's computer?

Using Intune: the only way I could think was to create another application:

App #1: Laserfiche Installer (LFGet.exe). Laserfiche instructions (link below) are sparse on how to pass through the license file - unless the Unattended mode doesn't require a license?

App #2 - dependency on #1: app with Samuel Carson's script: LFGet-BulkAction.ps1 to install the products.

Thanks,
Heather

Hi Heather,

If all you need to install are the desktop client components, those don't require a license.

LFGet.exe is a standalone executable. Unlike the GUI "Laserfiche Installer", you don't need to install it. Intune only needs a copy of the exe, not a separate install step for it.

In my LFGet-BulkAction.ps1 script, there's:

.PARAMETER CopyLFGetFromSource
Optional source directory containing LFGet.exe and dependencies. Forwarded when provided.

With that param, you can put LFGet.exe on a network share and the script will make a local copy of it.

Does that answer your question?

Thank you for clarifying.

We had considered the CopyLFGetFromSource parameter, but were trying to stay away from network shares and group policies.
