Connection options in Web Client introduces two 21 second delays in Microsoft Edge

asked on August 15 • Show version history

This is for a Directory Server Authentication Environment.

In the Web Client configuration page the option Enable auto-sign in with Kerberos did not auto sign in with our current windows account, it still prompts for your creds once per day.

So the setting is essentially pointless. Web Client is not what handles authentication so why is this setting here after hooking up to a DS server? This would be something you would choose in the DS config.

If you choose this option, what you get instead is two 21 second delays loading the login page with Edge. Other browsers remain instantaneous.

Why this is frustrating.

Diagnosing the problem with an AI assistant, is still very time consuming. Without AI it might be nearly impossible to track down.

The setting doesn't work anyways so it is just inviting you to shoot yourself in the foot by choosing it.

The 2 pages Edge waits 21 seconds on.

Please record a HAR file in Edge and open a case with Laserfiche Support.
