How do you pick a value from a select field with LFForm Object?

I can not find a method that picks a value from a select field.

setFieldValues replaces the entire list.

I think you want to use 

getFieldValues

Gets the value of the specified fields.

I found that since they were running setFieldValues at the same time a lookup was running it causes the entire list to be replaced. You have to wait for the lookup to complete before running the function and then it will pick a single value from the list.
