Question

Dividing one page into three - Is it possible?

asked on July 21

We have a document that is routinely received from a third party, and it has three 'slips' on one page. Each slip needs to be filed into a different folder. I'm not sure if the original is electronic or paper, but for this question, I won't be fussy if someone has a clever idea. We're going to look at Adobe to see if it can break them apart first. They've been doing it manually which isn't efficient.

We tried using some of the scan tools in the client, but the one that sounded the best ('crop') doesn't actually crop sections - it crops the whole document to resize it on the page (bigger/smaller).

The only way I can think of is to use workflow.

  1. Apply redaction on the unwanted areas
  2. Script to export (burning in the redaction) and import to a new document (only has the information of the selected slip)
  3. Remove the redaction(s)

This approach would require you to process the document 3 times (once for each slip) and if you do not know programming will be very challenging.
