Question

Hide Details Pane Upon Opening Task ie hide right drawer

asked on July 15 • Show version history

I have been unable to find a way to hide what seems to be class "right-drawer-toggle", it may also be togglebtn or container but I have had no success with solution provided by Smart Chat nor with manipulating other solutions for similar sidebar solutions using classic or onprem methods.

Honestly only know enough to be dangerous.

I would like to configure this using css or java with modern designer of lfform object on cloud. We want to do this to protect some information that may show up on the summary details list of variables that are hidden on the forms themselves. I realize that there might be iframe limitations and there may be desktop browser configuration solutions but We do not want have to deploy a solution to desktops and we have no access to remote desktops coming over the portal. All help appreciated.

You might be able to make it work in the Classic Designer (for example, here's a post with some JavaScript for the Classic Designer that forces the panel open on form load).

However, this is not possible in the Layout Designer as the CSS is limited to the body of the form, and JavaScript with the LFForm object does not include the ability to edit that component.  JavaScript in the Layout Designer is limited to interacting with form components via the LFForm Object and cannot directly access the page's DOM.

Matthew, thanks for this thought, I am working in cloud on with the modern designer not sure if forms with different designers could co-exist without losing functionality. What you said about being unable to access the pages DOM seems like the core of the issue.  It's interesting that "message start events do not have a detail drawer so there does seem to be a switch of some sort within how a form is displayed.

Thanks for your input hoping there might be a solution.

Peter,

What is your use case?

A business process and work flows to process Land use referrals. A number of forms process a referral from information capture to recommendations  and approval provide appropriate information to each of the teams responsible. There is no need to access the detail information or summary from the drawer. There is some concerns that hidden variables on the form may be visible on the summary list that should not bee seen. Further the toggle nature of the drawer is seen as a visual/action that is  unnecessary as it has no use to the users.
