Question

Password protecting email attachments

asked on July 9

Hi,

I'm just looking for clarification on the behaviour of the Web Client (Cloud and on-premise) when choosing to password protect attachments.

My understanding was always that this is only possible when converting TIF files to PDFs but it seems that in on premise Web Client (v11) and Cloud that you are able to convert an Excel attachment to PDF and password protect that, but only when choosing not to use the local email client to send?

What is the expected behaviour here as the password prompt dialog appears to show regardless of the file format and users are sending what they think is a password protected file, which isn't the case.

Thanks,

Nigel.

Laserfiche does not convert Excel to PDF. If you are seeing an option for it when emailing, it's because your Excel document has either image or text pages generated.
