Question

Question

invoke business process not passing variables to form

asked on July 9

I am working to create a workflow and form that function together. The workflow triggers every 24 hours, and scans a specific set of folders in our repository. If any of those files are over 24 hours old, it kicks off a form using the Invoke Business Process function. This works correctly. In the form, what it is supposed to do is submit a task to the user to correct the specified files, and send them an email. Again this works correctly.

The issue is that the workflow doesn't seem to be sending the variables to the form. Or the form is not accepting them. I added the variables to the form but on both it and the email, the sections are blank. How can I get the form to accept the variables from the workflow? I have tried both the Invoke Business Process function and selected the specified variables, and I have also tried the Set Business Process Variables option. No luck.

This is just the selection of the fields, please show the mapping
ie: Entry_Name=%(name)

You do need to use the Invoke Business Process which will start the BP. Can you show how you've mapped the values from the WF to the BP in the Invoke activity?

FYI, Set Business Process values is used when the BP calls the WF, and you want to return values back to that BP from that WF

Well now I feel foolish. I thought the Starting Variable Values parameter was just if you wanted some specific default. Not the actual place to add the mapping. I corrected that and it now correctly pushes the variable values. Thank you!!
