When I run a report, why are there no commas in large numbers?

Here is what the form has in it when submitted:

But when I run a report, there are no commas in the values, they don't even look like currency (and of course this is sum of many submission from the above form):

Basically, the currency symbols, commas, etc. are just masking on the form fields and the report is showing the actual stored values.

I understand that. I did have an employee ask for the report fields to be formatted and there is no way to do that.
