Laserfiche Move pages entry doesn't delete PDF's or word documents

asked on June 18

I’m currently working with an on-prem client who is using the “Move Pages” activity to consolidate pages from multiple documents within a folder into a single document. They have enabled the option “Delete document if all its pages have been moved,” but it is not working as expected for either PDF or Word documents. While the pages are successfully moved, the source documents remain in the main folder instead of being deleted. Has anyone encountered this behavior before or have any ideas on what might be causing it?

Hi Keisha,

I've run into this as well. I think the checkbox should probably say "delete document if all its pages have been moved AND it has no other electronic file" because it doesn't delete it if there's still a file of some sort associated with the document. Might be intended behavior, too - I'd rather have Workflow have as many safeguards as possible when it comes to automatically deleting stuff.

I usually wrap a Delete Entry activity in a Conditional Sequence that runs if the entry page count is zero. You may have to refresh the starting entry's tokens in order for that Conditional Sequence to evaluate correctly at that point in the workflow, too; I don't know the page count token that gets evaluated is created when the workflow starts or if it's a "live" token.
