Question

Laserfiche Cloud storage

asked on June 12

We are currently reviewing Laserfiche Cloud storage utilization and have noticed that the information available under Account Administration is very limited.

The current dashboard only displays the total storage consumed by the Repository and Process Automation, but it does not provide sufficient detail to determine where the storage is actually being used.

We would like to know if there is a way to obtain a more detailed breakdown of storage consumption, including:

  • Storage usage by folder and subfolder.
  • Identification of the largest documents within the repository.
  • Storage usage by document type.
  • Whether document versions are included in the reported storage consumption.

Whether annotations, OCR text, thumbnails, or other repository-related data contribute to the storage calculation.

Whether there are additional Laserfiche Cloud modules or components that consume storage from the licensed allocation, such as:

  • Process Automation
  • Forms
  • Business Processes
  • Audit Trail
  • Records Management
  • Attachments generated by Forms or Processes
  • Any other system-generated content

Additionally, is there a report, dashboard, analytics tool, or API endpoint available that can provide a detailed storage analysis beyond what is currently displayed in the Account Administration portal?

Our goal is to identify what is driving repository growth and determine where storage optimization efforts should be focused.

Hello Michelle,

We encountered a similar request some time ago. At that time, the only way we found to obtain more detailed information was through the Laserfiche Desktop Client installed on a workstation. From there, it is possible to review the properties of individual folders, which display information such as folder size and related storage details.

Additionally, for a more comprehensive storage analysis, we had to open a support case directly with Laserfiche. Their support team was able to provide detailed storage utilization information that was not available through the standard administration tools.

Based on our experience, there is currently no native functionality in Laserfiche Cloud that provides the level of detail requested (such as storage consumption by folder/subfolder, document type, or identification of the largest documents). Therefore, we would recommend opening a case with Laserfiche Support to confirm the options currently available and to request a detailed storage utilization analysis of your environment.

Hello David,

Thank you very much for your response.

Based on your recommendation, I will proceed with opening a support case directly with Laserfiche to better understand the available options and determine whether a more detailed storage utilization analysis can be provided for our environment.
